I've been in touch with Roy Wood Transits this weekend re the water and they tell me they've had a similar problem with their current demonstrator which was traced back to the rear door curtains catching in the door seal and allowing water to pass into the interior. Sounds like it might be my problem as the curtains do catch at times and keep getting wet. they're going to discuss it with the converters next week. Fingers crossed.

Tomorrow AM I'm taking the van back to its original home where it was turned into a motor caravan early last year.
Anyone on the A1 south of Boroughbridge to M18 to M1 to A42 to M42 to Tamworth look out for us.
She's gonna stay there for a week to give them plenty of time to find and cure the d*****n leak in the back.
Whilst there she's getting a replacement hot water boiler as water jacket of the current one has cracked with frost, even though it was drained down at the end of October. She's also getting a check over on all the habitation equipment plus a couple of little bits of trim that need tidying, a second leisure battery under the front passenger seat and a coffee table between the front seats.
Coming home by Virgin Cross Country and I'll be marooned at home for a week unless the lady I love lets me play with her car.

Well the Trannys back from her hols with her converters in Tamworth.
She now has two 85a/h leisure batteries which should keep the Mrs electric blanket going!!!
We now have a coffee table that fits between the two front seats and stores away tidily when not wanted.
They also replaced the o/s/r seat back as the laminate was rucking and repositioned the seat so it didn't happen again.
They replaced the non-locking locking fresh water tank cap.
They found that the hot water boiler under the same seat was not cracked but did have a leak from a hose connection. It is thought that the same leak was causing some of the damp problems at the rear o/s wheelarch. I'll reserve judgement on that until after the next wet day.
They found that the rubber seal on the o/s of the liftback door wasn't sealing tight around the corner of the door and this too was letting in water.
As this is a Ford part and a known problem area they have suggested I get our local main dealer to replace the whole seal.
So it looks like BigNeil and AndyG where right in the first place - sorry I doubted you guys.

Update on the rear water leakage.
I thought this was all sorted with the fitting of a new door seal by local Ford Main Dealer.
However a few days later, after rain, we were back to square one with a damp rear end.
Roy Wood Transits still felt that it might be the curtains getting trapped in between the door and the seal and either creating a small gap or acting as a wick and transmitting water to the interior.
So from then on every time we closed the rear door we hopped inside to make sure the curtains weren't trapped.
Result!!!!
Last Bank Holiday Sunday night was 'orrible in the Bath area. We were on a camp site with the rear door taking the full force of the wind and persistant downpours all night. The next morning all was dry in the back. That's gotta be the stiffest test possible.
On way back from the west we called in at RWT in Winnersh and they reconfigured the curtain fastenings so they can't possibly get trapped in the door again.
Hopefully that's it, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed just in case.
