MK 7) Interior Light Fuse

Postby ake » Fri Feb 19, 2010 9:56 pm

The fuse for the interior lights on a MK7 Transit is fuse 72, 10amp
It is located in the hidden fusebox. See  viewtopic.php?f=40&t=49206 to help find it.

It is listed in the instruction book as 'Battery Saver OBDII'

If you cant connect diagnostically, via the OBD socket , that fuse is the culprit as well !

Holy thread revival Batman!

My new (to me) mk7 van, didnt have any interior lights working. After a small search on this forum, i found the answer, which has a big thank you attached to it for this thread.

However, one problem always creates another. Now my interior lights are always on in the rear of the van or when on the close with the door position.

Ive had a little mooch at the door shut mech on the slide door (Three little pins and a plastic plunger) and i just cant figure it out.

Am i just being a mong and missing something obvious? I can turn the two front lights off in the cab, but they stay on in both the forward and back switch positions.

How long have you waited for them to go off?

I would class it as a few moments. I got in the back of the van and shut both doors and waited 30 seconds or so, they were still on. Does it take longer than this?

Get in the back of the van with your keys in hand and shut the doors. Then deadlock the van. If the lights are working properly they should dim and go out when you deadlock the van. I did this to test some LED bulbs when I tried to make the lights brighter in the back but they didn't fully go out when I locked the van. They stayed very dimly let so they woulda caused a fault on the can-bus system. Went back to original bulbs for now...
