hasp and padlock worked a treat

Postby tommy green » Wed May 06, 2015 9:08 pm

There has been a spate of van break ins round my way in the past few months, mine got done about 4 month ago! The little ba#*#rd* ripped my side door clean off, trashed the door, trashed the side pillar, ripped the external runner nearly clean off the van and caused that much damage the insurance subsequently wrote the van off. I've had another van an put hasp an padlocks on both rear an side doors as well as the aftermarket deadlocks that were already fitted. I've also bolted a big site safe straight through the floor, it seems as though the beefed up security has worked as the little ba#*#rd* have been back last night an had another go! But I'm pleased to say other than a few minor scratch's an dint's they didn't get in an hopefully wont be back. Im Beefing up a friends van security Saturday as they got into his the same night they tried mine, he just needs a new set of back doors first. Anyone else endured the sinking feeling of finding your van empty in the morning? Please share experiences plus extra security tips. Cheers tommy

Yeah I've heard of that, after mine I went mad for about a week researching van security an there's a ford lock pick called a ford tibbe pick. There all over the internet for sale an should be banned! the mk8 has a different style of key I think so it cant be used on the newer transits.

Scrotes already know about them and what they're called. They don't appear to be the easiest of things to use and apparently the cheaper ones are fragile (google-able information). however if someone does know how to use one then double unlocking the drivers door opens the whole van. Best way is to remove the door lock and fit a blanking cover on the door-and just hope you never have a flat key battery!

Just brought some seized high tension chain an tackle ebay 99p, I'm gonna weld eyelets on the inside of the rear doors and side doors and cut a small hole through the bottom of the bulkhead. Then once a night in gonna drag the chain through the lot and padlock it to the legs of the passenger seat. I've also brought a yale wireless house alarm £45 and I'm gonna put the bell box on the house, the keypad in my hall, and the 2 pirs in the back of my van. Set the alarm when I get home, awesome and loud  Then it will be known as fort transit
