Van went to the welders yesterday, to have new hangers and cross member fitted, I cut the old ones off to save a few quid on labour.
ImageImageImageNeeded new spring hangers in a hurry, so phoned Dieselhead and they arrived the next morning

Yes, definitely Luke, meant do it years ago, even got a can of waxoil in the shed rusting away. Still got a sill on n/s rear to sort out but hopefully it can wait for a while.
I've got to hand paint the new panels but its all hidden away I suppose, then I should get on with finishing the front suspension assembly... along with those quad headlights I started a couple of years ago! Lol.
just looking forward to getting the van back later in the week now

Hand painting is probably better from the rust prevention point of view Alan ;)

Well the vans back and I've started to seal joints and paint, but ive not had much time to get on with all the jobs that need doing and reassemble everything that had to be taken out for welding. Worked on it most of yesterday but its been raining on and off today, so not much progress, plus I've got to get her in for a mot Saturday next, so there is a strong possibility that I might not make NW next weekend. Going to try and get wiring sorted and rest of paint during the week, I haven't even test fitted the bumper yet, as I had to mod the cross member last time, lets hope the weather is ok during the week so I can crack on after work.ImageImageImageImageImageImage just ordered some more stainless nuts and bolts to refit cross member braces, hopefully they will arrive quickly.

Remember that stainless does not have the same strength as the factory bolts Alan. Some suspension bolts are high tensile, the number will be on the head, iirc 8.8 is standard, 10.2 is higher. Stainless will not match 10.2

Not using stainless for anything high tensile, just the cross braces, from the chassis to front cross member/wings
