speedo / tacho problem

hi has any one come across this problem i have a 07 ford treansit 2.4 truck i started the truck and when i pulled away i noticed that the speedo was not working and that the tacho has gone blank not showing milage nothink at all i have checked the connections and the fuses look ok i think one works the other i know on earlier models you can get a lead to remove the tacho but the later models need to switched off via the ecu but would that trnsfer the milage back to the speedo help please daveyg

Switching off tacho in bcm should put mileage back onto speedo display.

thanks for that reply but do think that switching off the tacho will let the speedo start working again it is srange that they both stopped working at the same time

In the wiring diagram the speedo and tacho are wired on the same wires so i will say that they are both using can bus to decide which 1 shows the info, this will be down to config as Ake says.

thanks for the reply it looks like i will have to get the tacho switched off and then see if the speedo starts to work again that is if i can find someone with the software to do it with out going to fords to get charged a small fortune thx daveyg
