260 fwd 2006/07 new gearbox (threaded Hole)

260 fwd 2006/07 new gearbox, ive just bought a gearbox and it has what looks like a filling/level threaded hole (about 16mm width) close to where the drivers side drive shaft enters the box,
Its slightly bigger then the rest as ive tried one of the 8m allen key bolts from my old box on it, on my old 2001 gearbox the hole wasent there it was blocked (as part of the mold).
can anyone please tell me if this needs to be plugged or weither its a breathing hole.
ideas would be appreciated many thanks brett

Sounds like the filling hole, but I'd speak to your supplier.
