Oil Pump Recall

Got a recall letter today for urgent action regarding the oil pump!
I phoned the Dunstable dealer where I purchased it and guess what, they couldn't book it in due to the parts being on back order!
I knew it would be a problem when started building them Turkey! or maybe it is apt?

Sucks either way, how urgent is urgent? if there are no parts?

Just had mine done at 37k, since having it done the engine seems noticeably quieter and running more freely. The oil is still clean after 1500 miles, after the first service at 28k the oil was black within 30miles, I wouldn't be surprised if the faulty pumps are starving the engines of oil for some time before they finally expire. ......

The pumps fail, without warning and the engines run dry.

This is a global recall of all euro 5 2.2 engined Transits, and includes late MK 7 vans, Customs, Mk8 and Landrover Defenders.

i thought the engines were built at Dagenham ?

Think they build engines at halewood for ford and jaguar landrover but smaller engines are built a Dagenham.

Sounds about right.
I was watching a car built live on telly with james may. They were loading minis onto a ferry at Southampton but they were loading connects at same time. They must come off one boat then back onto another.

Are mk8's affected by the recall? I tought it was only mk7.5 that were affected and didn't they solve the issue?

If mk8's are affected is there a list of vin's affected?

All 2014 and earlier 2.2 are affected, including Customs and MK 8

All the diesel engines are built at Dagenham, even the JLR V6 and V8
Petrol engines are built at Brigend. Includes JLR...

New JLR diesel is built by JLR in Wolverhampton.

The letter said post 2006 2.2 diesels

My MK7 (2012) was on the list, my Custom (2013/4) isn't. So it's not all 2.2's.
