yes the H1 HIR bulbs works... but positive and negative things:

positive:
- no any fitting problems
- no any canbus alarm because are 55w
- light power improvement
- color temperature better than the OEM ones

negative
- color temperature worse than the "tuning" lamps I had already installed (but for sure with less light power)

now I have parking light and low beam with a fantastic 6000k color... and DRL, cornering lights and high beams with warmer color...I will fix it

Anyone using something like this for the main/drl lamps
http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/mtec-h15-5 ... ade-bulbs/

I'd like Osram but they don't seem to make H15?

They do make an H1 which is the cornering lamps, do these fit?

I need the yellow gone!

I need the yellow gone!

They will fit and work, I've fitted xenon bulbs to mine, these are a noticeable improvement over halogen bulbs without the complications associated with the HID option

Hi Alar,

Something dark yes...ok, probably not a big issue...but...

I've my theory:

since the HID bulb have the external connection beside the glass it means that 99% the light beam cannot pass through that slice...so the result is to have one ore more dead area.
I think this is the main problem when the projector is not made in origin for HID lamp (optical and lighting are university matter at those days).
If the headlamp is factory made for HID for sure some engineer fixed this problem with the reflector or something else.

anyway...

this is what I'm talking on:

Image

top view of the HID bulb (sorry for paint)

Image

in this picture easy to see that problem with HID and not with Alogen

Image

double HID bulb...double problem

Image

so I think that some of those black areas are related to:

Image

for example I've read this 3d in one italian forum, unfortunately the pictures are not longer available, but I read it and this guy modified the slot on the bulb base in order to rotate it in a different way, so he described the result as "unbelievable"...I guess it.

this one:

http://www.hids4u.co.uk/h7-35w-ultimate ... n-kit.html

my choice was 6000°K, Projector H7

I can suggest...take the 5000°K...I will probably change mine too...small mistake :)

Does anybody know the location / number and rating of each of the headlamp (LH and RH) fuses at all? The manual does not state anything about them, only a fuse for the 'Cornering Lamp', which is in the Passenger's Compartment Fuse Box, shown as number 30, rated at 20A.

Any help would be awesome, thanks in advance guys :)

yesterday I modified the position of the H7 HID bulb in order to have the external connection upside down and minimize the shade caused from.

the tool I used for:

sheet metal scissors

Image

profile copier

Image

the bulb

Image

Image

then in the night I did some test, 1st the shading is not longer an issue...that's good and expected

but...now I see 2 other issues, one is the dark on left and right corners and...the gap between the right and left beam.
about the beam I will try to check better the bulb seating and/or the headlamp installation on the van... but I have no idea how to minimize the dark corners...mumble mumble...
