Thanks for the replies, good to get some feedback. Chassis will be extended before body is fitted.Going for 4.5mm aluminium chequerplate, hope this will put up with the salvage work and being bashed about by crane drivers.Trying to keep the payload as much as possible,no spare wheel, ally racing trolley jack/few tools etc.Hoping to achieve 2000kg. Went for 5 leaf springs, very hard ride (like all my vehicles)and rides high at back but should drop as soon as loaded.I like the dragster look when unloaded anyway. My Iveco has 7 leafs and you feel every bump,Transit feels like luxury compared to that.No power steering on the Iveco too, takes 2 men to get out of tight spaces! I've got to do something with all the fixing holes on this side of the chassis, may try and get some rubber bungs to prevent it from filling up with water spray from wheels.Screen fitter has re-sealed screen and fitted rubber so water feature on inside has now stopped and interior re-fitted.We scraped all the rubber foam from back of rubber floor covering to stop it holding water ready for new leaks and our dirty wet hooves...

Engine bay prepped and painted body colour.Stripped out water baloon sound insulation stuff from inner wings and chassis rails.Surface rust had started so got there just in time.Underside has been steamed, wire brushed, replaced cracked seam sealer, primed and re-undersealed.Sprayed Waxoyl in cavities and chassis rails.Very Lonely under there.. Don't know whether to colour code mirrors, bumper and wiper arm panel,if it keeps raining today I'll not be able to get at offside so may be tempted..
Thanks,it's "Magnum",original Ford colour.Spent a fortune on paint as 2k is soon to be no longer available due to euro nanny state regs.Didn't fancy using water based in the conditions I'm working in!Also stocked up on a lovely black pearl with green/gold red flecks for my 87 Civic GTi which will be getting finished after the Transit hopefully....
