Mk6 wont start after fuel filter change

Hi, My mk6 85/280 only ran for a short time after i had changed the fuel filter, should it be a self bleeding system or is there a particular method for this?

did you fill the fuel filter before refitting is it on correctly

The filter is full and correctly aligned before fitting, It ran for about 30seconds before making a horrible sound similar to a knocking bottom end. I have good oil pressure although the oil level is on the minimum mark

The horrible knocking was diesel knock. Nothing to worry about, fill the filter with diesel and bleed the injectors.

Well that sorted that out, thanks for the replies, however i did have quite a head scratch over replacing the front brake disc's...

...turns out i had to remove the front hubs including bearing from the strut via the bolt holes thu the discs and then the discs come straight off without interfering with front wheel bearings....


would have been nice to figure that out BEFORE spending an hour wondering why my biggest hammer wouldnt move it
