I made an offer of 220 and he counter offered 221, i was thinking of countering 220.50 for a laugh but grew up and accepted

He wants 50 PayPal deposit (I've asked him how do i do that as PayPal directs me to pay in full )
Then he wants the rest in cash on collection, which is no problem if i PayPal whoever picks it up but i thought after i accepted the offer that it might be a hassle for the kind gent who's picking up the part?

So it's mine now apart from payment.

I was hoping wrong hole would grab it from where it is and take it home to Watford and i could either get my dad to pop down the road to Watford and get it or try and organise having it brought up from tm?


If i don't say beforehand, a big thanks for all the suggestions and offers

Hard day today, it started off so well tho.
Ford actually made it accessible to get to the strut top nuts without a Stanley knife or removing the dash

Here's the new sub frame, although it goes against the grain, I'm painting atleast the top side of it smooth black Granville paint to cover the scratches etc.

Yes i has the bucket and hose out on it and the subframe, which is now painted and in the back garden
I'll do more to the strut next time but I'm going to paint the calipers silver as they are originally except mine are dirty looking

it really gets me when people take bits off and/or change parts and just put them back on dirty and/or rusty, yes it will get dirty and rusty but at least put them on clean, its like wheeler dealers when they put shiny new/refurbished wheels on with rusty nuts paint them just paint them I tell you . N

i agree, not always practical but helps to have just a little ocd i was like a young Darth Vader (Anakin) fighting the force today, either fit the subframe as was but washed or leave it today, go get the paint and a brush then paint the frame in the back garden (was at work with the van obviously).

So that's what i did as i could see shiny metal on the frame and thought no chance Lol.

Although i think the gearbox will have to come off to sort the thrust bearing inner drive shaft came adrift today too so i lost a cup full of oil it's all fun eh

Anyone else over 5'9" agree that this is a major problem and that the designers at Ford need a swift dig in the Adams Apple?

A lack of scoop to put your fingers in to close the door! Mk7 has 1, every time i go to shut the door from inside i slip off the top where the scoop would be No wonder everyone is losing door hinges
