im off to portugal surfing next month with my two young groms - driving down. Any suggestions from you guys who drive millions of miles what I might need just in...case ??

traveling cornwall ... dover ...calais ...sintra/portugal ...
diesel at proper prices abroad....not like here.....

the boys are taking all but the kitchen sink.....

Yeah dead easy, get a copy of John Speeds superb book called "Travel Vans" It list just about everything you should need/ want/ take with you when bimbling around abroad. its available from Geoprisa ISBN 99920-1-158-0 Do a google for it as its got limited distribution, The book is pricless.

I also suggest you make sure you can remove the wheels with the gear you have, take one wheel off at a time & copperslip the studs & bearing area.
Come first tyre change mine were a cows to remove.

Why don't you check out the ferry Portsmouth/Santander or Portsmouth/
Bilbao. Driving is not only a lot of miles, diesel in France is hardly any cheaper than here now, (1euro 34cents per litre 2 weekends ago) and remember the tolls, unless you are going on RN's :)

Have fun, but not too much I'll get jealous :D

Warning triangle ,oil ,water, spare bulbs,i've never bothered with the headlamp stickers but the foreign cops do get a bit stressy if u aint got a triangle ,few quid on ebay, other than that plenty of fags and shed loads of Euphoria cd's, :lol: Enjoy :lol:

^^Aswell as the triangle and bulbs I think you're also supposed to carry a hi vis vest abroad aswell

Oh and for changing wheels I always have a 2ton trolley jack and a 30" breaker bar with the right socket in the back.

you need as many viz jackets as there are seats in the vehical to go through spain i think,but you have to have the viz vests tho i know that much.

thanks lads plenty of food for thought there ,never thought we had to have viz vests.....
they will probably want toe teckters and hard hats next year.......
