Need help setting a price

Postby bortaf » Sat Nov 12, 2005 5:18 pm

for this :(
don't want to sell her but she's now a 5th motor and probably the most sellable

Image
she aint as clean as she was back then 6 years outside has taken it;s toll.
She was rebuilt 7 years back with a brand new rear door(drivers side), brand new drivers door and 2 front wings, i have pics of the rebuild.
She has 70,000 odd on the clock (real millage),5 speed Type 9 leccy ignition, twin choke carb, tubular exhaust manifold and piperX sports air filter and a 2000 mile old borge and beck clutch (fitted with the 5 speed).
I've just rebuilt a spare carb for it (dosn't need it but all me other pinto's are injection, i also have a spare unleaded head to go on.
Faults, noisy relaese bearing and the front discs are slightly warped but thay are still the best brakles on any motor i own cos they were all NEW when i rebuilt it so all only done 2000 miles.
It also has C/L fitted but the wires need running properly through the pillars, it has twin batterys and twin split chargers (one for the second battery and one for the fridge so it only runs 12 with the engin running.
None of the camper stuff has ever been used as me mum has been using it to cart me disabled dad about.

heres the worst of the rust

This is the new rear door which is rippled but i was going to stick a wheel carryer on it or a nuber plate holder.
Image

This isn't rust just a chunk of paint that came off when somone hit the mirror :( now replaced both mirror heads with NEW ones from ebay :D
Image

I've had the front seats replaced with captins seats with arm rests and matching rear cushions but it meen you can't have a bed in it (unless your 4 feet tall and sleep sideways in the back.
the front seats both have swivle mounts fitted but only swivle part way round to aid getting in and out for me dad and mum, they would swivle all the way id the wood trim was cut down in the front :-)

Image

I have the missing hub cap, the rear step towbar has only been used once
and the steering wheel won't be going with the van

Image

I think thats about it, what do ya all recon, wen't straight through the MOT not even an advisery has a years tax but that disabled tax and will have to come off unless you are disabled i will be changing the taxation class back to PLG and it will have 6 months tax.
I have the plastic front s#poiler to go with it just not fitted yet, comes with spare rear lights, front indicator ect.
Appart from the drivers rear arch all the rust is surface and need doing now before it gets too deep, the underside was fully undersealed (i dried it out properly first as it was in the garage for 18months during the rebuild.
See my home page for more pics of the van.

Ah sad, if I were you I owuld hang on til the spring, as winter isn't a good time to sell a camper, and sort out the sleeping arrangements too as it spoils for some buyers.

It's not really the space, i don't want it to get any worse, i put a lot into it to get me mum back on the road and it's gutting watching it rust away.
Ok i know it's not that bad but appart from the front wings and rear arch the vans only ever had 2 plates in it's life, it deserves better you know :(
I fitted 4 new shocks 3 months back and it's only put 3 miles on em
Really needs an new owner to fettle and take care of her (god i sound like an old fart  )
