you have done a really fine job on this
better than i could do
but
for a transit to do the basic job i think you have over engineered it
if it was on a cargo then i would say spot on
this is why i put my latest transit out to tender
not to save money but to save pounds (weight)
i honestly love the photos and like to see you boy is involved but to go and use the truck to make money then i would be frightened that the cheesy battenburg boys would ruin my day........sorry

no affense taken i like to hear peoples fews even sugestions but this is the way i built my previous body on my mk5 and im more than happy if i can carry a ton on it itll do me but i do see were you coming from

ive started to box in the back end and but some number plate lights on






ive been thinking about the middle were towbar slides out and come up with a daft idea
yes why not make a door that slides up out the way and mount no. plate on it , slide it up to put trailer on , slide towbar in when not in use and pull door back down
wonder if it ll work yip it works

doors shut above havent fitted no. plate yet
below just lift it up on the runners as below







and when opened right up its out the way . needs other side boxing in yet though

went to get some steel for headboard drew a few pics how i wanted it
took it to get made and guess wot bender broke but not the end of the world

well ive got the last sheet cut and in placecurved the front in and tacked underneath just needs seem welding round the top ive cut the front out were winch will sit and made frame work under it and used thicker guage checker and bolted it on to make easier access to mount the winch



also fitted spring clips to keep light slides in place and handles to pull them out



just awaiting head board so might start painting cab after i weld the last sheet on

top job mate, i extended a chassie on a mk5 a couple of years back, i put exactly a meter in between the axles, i built the body from steel and covered it in chequer plate, when on the bridge she weighed 2800kg empty, i sold it and the fella is still using it now, hes had no problems

well never posted for a bit been busy so up to date ive
fitted winch then removed for paint
fitted bracket for isolator switches
awaiting head board away geting folded into shape so we are starting to prepare cab for paint











cab not bad really few scrates and slight dent on drivers wing so ive done them to make it look nice
also ive getting some mk7 escort fog lights to go in front bumper just needs planks cutting out show image when i cut them out

and now back in for the paint to be put on









well i need headboard to do anymore so post when ive getting it back

now ive started to build front end up while im waiting for my headboard i painted front bumper with propper bumper paint looks like new, and fitted my a bar also , and fitted my mk7 escort fog lights into front bumper just cut hole out one bracket fit perfect the other just cut a bit of steel to reach other fastener on bumper but nice and strong





i bought these little flashing led 's off ebay from germany they not very long
but flash nice and bright



so i wondered were to put them had them all over then for daftness i tried under the the lights on the roof



so idrilled a little hole for wires got some black windscreen sealant and dabbed a bit on and taped them together and left over night



then the wire fed throgh the roof and fastened on the lights again



ive ordered a bluetooth radio so ill wire them up when that comes
also found some spots laid about with dip beam and hi beam so fitted them need some relays then wire them and fogs up you cant even see the leds really

i wouldnt know those driving lights werent factory
as regards the flashing ones a neat idea and a good place to have them in case you are stuck on a road somewhere with willy wonka drivers about

in the past ive left things and just wanted them on the road but the one im using is ok so no real hurry so im taking time to do the little bits but its taking shape
