hi my 2.4 mk7 transit has air coming up through air box making loud thumping noise any help please guys

Generally a sign of a valve train fault,hydraulic tappet or rocker arm collapse..

thanks for the reply frag does this mean cylinder head has to come of the truck seems to drive ok most of the time then it gets worse on tickover
