Electronics on front screen.

Hi Folks,

This is probably simple for someone. I have a 67 plate Connect, absolute bottom of the range. As such, I didn't expect anything special, but there is a lump of electronics bonded to the front screen along with a massive cover. It's located where the rear view mirror would be if I didn't have a solid bulkhead. I saw a vague reference to a camera on the front screen in the owner's manual but if so, what's it watching? Any help please? I'm really curious
