Hello Fellow Transiteers.
Got a proper brainache for you. Ive had my TDCi Connect for 1 Month. Heres whats happened.
1)I broke down and it turned out to be the single high pressure pipe from the pump to the manifold/rail, whatever it called.( Looks like a spider). It had split on the lower union.
2)Bought a new one. Genuine Ford. £51. Fitted it. I thought, thats fixed that. NoNo!
3)2 weeks later the new pipe actually fractured leaving the formed end in the union.
4)Ford replaced that one. Very kind of them. Thats fixed that. Nope!!
5)2 days later on the M5 at Exeter, that one let go as well.
6) Bearing in mind the original pipe that let go the first time was also new so the seller knew it had a problem.
So, it cant be the pipes, it must be over pressurising which i find hard to believe this could cause a fracture or its vibrating. The pipe does not appear to have a stay bracket though. I was thinking, in my desperation that it might have a faulty pressure regulator on the pump, but i really dont know. .
7)Quite rattly on start up and takes a couple of minutes to go quiet. The tone is quite noticable and changes quickly.
HELP Please. Im just a welder!
