Well i am pleased to report back the van runs sweet as no back firing or missing on the short jaunt round the block twice and althought didnt wanna open her right up and attract attention she certainly didn't mind revving up past 3k so defo not in limp mode for sure !
Exhaust now re welded one front gasket had failed so i just welded over the gap, ill not be removing it in a hurry so no dramas there. Few small holes in centre boxes and few tiny blows in joints re done now no rasp what so ever which is also cool!
Nice long journey will tell all and if economy has improved and only other big jobs left on cards is swap shocks n springs for the new fronts i have and anti tramp bars still yet to be fitted too!!!
Oh and fuel tank.. got a 67l di one and just need to do that too!!!

sorry rob just read this - i think the problem with my afr meter was i used a standard lambda sensor - i think you need one matched to the gauge - thats what im doing next ive got another boss to weld into my exhaust to keep it totally separate from the ecu one.

Glad to report back recent drive to kent and back was spot on didnt miss a beat. Possibly slightly down on power tho or could be my imagination.
Defo much smoother tho and now rewelded exhaust sounds better and doesnt stink in cab as bad now.
Would go as far as saying some slight increase in economy but return trip home was fun.
No bogging at lights too now i must add so the hunting has gone!
Must do brakes next job too gettin bit spongy!

Thats all for now !

if your doing disks and pads Rob you can fit the 6 stud caliper carriers to your hubs (use same calipers) then you can fit new bigger 6 stud 190 disks and pads - good upgrade for a van like yours :D

Yeah, I think I would upgrade the brakes if it were me... speed and power are great but you gotta be able to stop! Lol. Great news rob, glad you’re getting her sorted

Today i just added 12v to pin 6 of ecu to tell it the air con that i dont have is 'on' lol. Should further help idle revs .
Defo purrs once again now that fekin huge blow is welded up !
Poss down a smidge now the lambda probes are wired up but guess should see proportional return in economy (if i can keep under 3k rpm!).

Just got back from weekend in Ipswich at the festival of wheels.
Towed the lil caravan up and had back of van packed out with mobile dj set up so properly loaded up.
Got there on just over half tank and got back on tad under half.
Reckon now the hego sensors are wired up they seem to be making a return on economy so always a bonus!
