You can go that way too
so say you get a mk2 that has'nt been driven for a while for $500
You pull the brakes and find the pistons are rusted and you need new pads
what are you going to do? you cant just push the pistons back and fit new pads as the rust will damage the seals and they will leak
Pistons for these are between $90 and $117 and theres 2 in each calliper
seal kits are $90 each and the pads are around $70
Thats nearly $720 just to rebuild the callipers
And your still stuck with tiny pads
What if the discs are rusted? yeah you could go and get them surfaced but what if their already at their minimum?
Discs are around $210 for a non vented 14.3mm thick discs
You could be up for nearly $1700
You may be lucky and get a van that has really good brakes then you may not, I dont like to see people get ripped or do them selfs out of cash
If i didnt get my hands on the other brakes i would have gone with the falc discs
You can do the conversion a little cheaper by not using the braided lines and slotted discs this would save you nearly $300
Yeah i know its big green and rusty so move your Porsche before i bash it with 460 cubes of fords finest cast iron
