Mk3 160 2 litre pinto twin rear wheeler brare servo

Postby vana mana » Thu Jan 10, 2019 10:31 am

Hi again
I'm back searching for back up parts for my twin wheel ambulance camper again
I'm using ford.7zap.com but am still confused on this issue

So I'm looking to find out what servo / booster is on my vehicle so I can find a back up or alternative

On mine here is a sticker with 86VB 2B195 G1E. I think ? Or very similar apart from last 3 characters

On the same sticker above it reads 2C1

On ford7.zap.com I lists 2 or more types
The 1st section doesn't give a direct part number ( not that I can see )

The second list does ... But it's asking about horizontal and vertical braking system ( anyone know what mine is or how to tell do I can make a note for future reference )

All I know is my vehicle is 4 pot calipers

Can anyone help me track down what booster / servo is mine and part numbers please

All help appreciated as always

Thank you

I'm sure I gave you links to catcar and fordopedia before, but try http://www.fordopedia.org/parts-catalog ... -mk3/E2.10
I've seen two different diameter servo's maybe that is the difference, what year is it?

Is it the same as this
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-TRANSIT ... 2398550107

you can select your van from the drop down menu at the top here
https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/car-br ... oster.html

It's strange as I just put in the numbers
86VB2B195 ( which is front part numbers of sticker on my servo and one has come up same numbers for a fiesta.???

Surely not.??

There are other numbers at the end of my 86VB number like either CIE or C1

This is difficult

I'm trying to work out if my camper is vertical or horizontal braking too

86VB 1986 transit.
2B195 component type /servo booster.
G1E fitment /revision for your van.

The last letters relate specifically to your van ie the servo booster has 4 bolts and a flange or fitted one way which makes it different to the same component that fits with a different bracket for another vehicle but the servo booster itself originally is the same before modified to fit different vehicles.

There is also another number which is the 'finis' number that is also used to identify the component.

That is how I understand it and it may also relate to a revised item ie the servo booster gets upgraded to a better 1 or modified slightly.

This could be absolute nonsense though

Thank you
That was a good explanation
So booster could be used on different vehicles but with adapted bracket

Any ideas how to find finis code

I have some numbers but need to find correct one.

Oh the joys
It's like a crime scene piecing the bits together lol

Then when I've worked this lot out with everyone's help (. Thank you all.)

I then have to find one or a supplier - unfortunately mine hisses airfrom inside cab now and again
Even if I can be fixed I've spent too much time money and trouble to not bother getting a back up or 2.

So 2B195.is the servo booster need .........

Think I've narrowed it down to 3
Using Moto Mobil site Germany

Prices for new reproduction are horrendus
Must find quality Secondhand.

Will post more pics and info later

Still to work out finis number though

Right, all my servos look identical fittings wise, the only difference is the one on my mk5 twin wheeler is 255mm diameter the others are.

mk 3 twin wheeler 230mm diameter
mk 4 twin wheeler 230mm diameter
Mk5 single wheeler 230mm diameter

no part numbers but one has a sticker N1197, googling comes up with ford focus.

I've been looking across the Ford range and it looks to me like pretty much any servo with 2B195 in the number will be the same, but possibly with different shaft size and possibly width spacings for studs for the master cylinder fitted, so one from a Focus, Fiesta, Ranger etc might fit.

Are you off the road and desperate for one?

Hi again
I was thinking this too about them being fitted on other fords etc
I'm not of the road but I have heard hiising now and again from inside cab near where the rod connects to brake pedal.
Just covering myself
