I know that these are related to the pump but I’m not convinced it’s that to fault as my van originally died so I got some one to do the timing he retarded the pump all the way and if any thing it run worse and smoked a lot so I changed the injectors that didn’t help so I then advanced my pump As much as it would go it run but was abit lumpy I then a few days later left it running and it turned of it won’t start and showed these codes I’m thinking maybe it’s still timing related but just want reassuring before I change the pump and that dosnt fix it thanks Again for the help.

how many miles has it got ? :?

does the chain rattle :?

from your post you have retarded the timing forward

ps

depending on what you have said i would say timing out :!: but then again i have been their done it and you end up with a new pump :(

then ask ya self when was the timing chain done

this one was less the 6 month old

It has 140k miles so it is overdue but by the looks of the timing cover some ones had it of before judging by the broken bolts :/ also when he retarded it he undone the locking bolts and turned it anti clock wise I believe that’s retarding so I advanced it by going clockwise but I didn’t know if incorrect fuel timing would cause these codes as originally it said over fueling so I thought it would of said that again

A mechanical pump on the mrk 6 will not over fuel it will shut down to protect the engine from damage :wink:

i THINK YOU need to take it to someone who knows these engines inside and out

in the last few weeks i have had new customers from all over the northwest, because so called diesel specialists dont know whats wrong with them :lol:

1563 is fuel pump timing solenoid 1664 is ecm on the pump just had the 1563 myself and my van rattles. still got it but doesn't tell me anymore as my problem was just fuel filter.
