2007 2.4 will bump start but wont start off key

Have a launch scanpad . no codes . data list showing positions of the ignition key from off thru to run and start ok .
crank data shows 45000kpa fuel pressure although no desired pressure and no injection pulse .
no issues with immobiliser data list .
Crash starts ( bump starts ) ok and runs ok . before this happened i drove the van 500km to pick up a trailer . on the way home the van would lose power so i would pull over , turn engine off for 20 seconds for the computer to shut down , restart and drive on with full power for about 15 mins ... same thing went on all the way home .. no codes when i checked it . next morning van wouldnt start.
i put new injectors and scv early last year and its been running great till now .

I wouldn’t bump start it, they a very prone to jumping the timing chains if you do.

needed to to get it out of the way and to get data while running . didnt have my scan tool when i went to pickup the trailer . would of been a big help when it was losingpower . cant replicate it now

What Punto said.....not a good idea the bump start transits....you could end up with more trouble than just your poor starting issue.

I'm guessing your PRV has blown...common occurrence for poor starting. Pop the leakback line off it and see if there's a silly amount of fuel coming out at idle. Would pay to check the EGR function too.

Launch Scanpad may not do it for you, some readers can't see all the modules and/or functions ...you'll need IDS or Forscan.

PRV is ok when testing it while running . there is no desired fuel pressure and no fuel pulse width when cranking . i have used this scantool on other transits and programmed the injectors and scv on this one , havent had too many issues with it . read on another post about ignition switch faults on these . is this just a crank issue or an issue supplying power to the ecu ? how many power outputs from the switch when cranking . starting to think it may be the switch or ecu fault ?? as cant find a reason its not commanding the injectors to pulse

Could be a duff ignition switch, easy and cheap to change. The PCM won't energize the injectors if the rail pressure is low.

Does the Tranny have the Crank Sensor on the flywheel like the mondeo?

if so perhaps the dual mass FW is up the spout after pulling the trailer

Yes they do....worth checking at least.

Just got back onto checking the van . rechecked cranking speed on the scanpad and seemed to be fluctuating from 180rpm to 280 rpm and it was definately cranking faster than that. pulled the crank angle sensor and cleaned off the crap on its end . refitted and started first time . Thanks for the suggestions especially bringing my attention to the crank sensor . Now for a beer

I'm thinking the dual mass flywheel was slipping and putting it in limp home due to a mismatch in crank and can speeds and possibly the crank sensor got covered by the crap flung out ? Will see how long it lasts

The flywheel and/or reluctor can't move as it's bolted and located to the crank end - unless like mine the reluctor is a cheapo pressed steel one that comes loose.

The swarf and crap is from the bearing between flywheel and dual mass wearing, it sticking to the crank position sender messes with the Hall effect/magnetic flux field and then because the PCM sees no crank pulses, it shuts the fuel delivery off.
