The epic pump will not work without the full wiring loom and dcu from the van the engine came from, or you will need to swap to a bosch injection pump.

Just installed a bosch 152 mechanical pump... all working...

Can someone please tell me if the mk2 Drive shaft is strong enough for turbo??... i´m a bit afraid by the looks... it´s really thin and small..

Should be fine IMHO although more knowledgeable Transit 'bobblehats' will be able to advise.

A mate of mine back in the day put a V6 in a twin wheel mk 1 and used to drive it like he stole it all the time even off road manage to snap the centre out of the clutch and snap the propshaft but never had any Half shaft or axle problems

Get another propshaft and keep it as a spare in case the one fitted decides to give up, the thin one might be fine but at least you have a back up

My last reply was based on how strong the half shaft is if it is the propshaft the op is worried about my mate gave the van some serious abuse marshaling on car rally’s he once passed my location on yump on a Forrest stage fully in the air and this was where the rally cars backed off as it was so rough so I wouldn’t worry as long as there is no play in the u/js

I have a supercharged V6 in my Mk2, with the standard propshaft. It gets some fairly serious use, including towing very heavy loads. Even did a day at the drags, including the compulsory burnout prior to each run. No problems so far!

Many thanks to all!!

The stock prop shaft will stay.. but i have one last problem... How to improve the top speed?

I have acess to a twin wheel mk5 axle but the wheels have a slight different bolt pattern that implies buying all 4 new tyres.... too expensive... can i install the mk5 pinion and crown in the mk2 twin wheel axle?

I know a fella who used do that with a mk 2 and I  never broke a prop or halfshaft but centres out of the clutch disc were another thing  Looking down at the tarmac through the windscreen a few times didnt seem to slow it down either
On the sixth day God created a Sprinter on the seventh he gave it away and bought a TRANSIT

When he broke the prop he did say it had play in rear u/j for a long time and if he’d change it it would not have gone even though he had a good prop at home

The body will always be a problem for wind resistance, I have a 200 kilometre an hour van but you will pay the price in fuel
it you use the power, i run a 3.2 diff with an auto box & fifteen inch wheels with high speed truck tyres.

Yes, but the mk5 axle probably has the same ratio (90% of them had 5.14, the rest 4.63).

As you have correctly noticed however is the mk5 axle has a different PCD - but it does have 15" wheels which could up the gearing, or you could even fit mk6/7/8 twin wheels too it (just need to open out the stud holes to suit the mk5 studs) to get 16" wheels...

Alternatively you could just get the 16" wheels and see if you can find someone to redrill them to the 6x170mm you need (or use Iveco TurboDaily 16" or Transit County wheels - if you can find them)
