Transit MK1 '70 Rebuild

Hi guys, I'm in need of a serious help. I have been postponing my rebuild for almost 2 years now and I'm a complete noob at engines etc.

I have a Transit MK1 '70 which I picked up from a junkyard 2.5 yrs ago. It has no engine and gearbox. I've done the bodyworks but stumbled to look for an engine thats suitable and can fit the MK1. I am in Malaysia and we have very limited option to get halfcut ford engines, easier to get JDM halfcut. So I am left with 2 options:

1. Mazda F8, 1.8 Petrol 12v

2. Mazda R2, 1.8 Diesel

My questions are, will these engine and gearbox fit in the MK1? Which of the 2 will be easier to install? What else do i need to make this MK1 run again?
