Amazing build. You must be uber proud of it! Love that you kept and fitted the BMW engine cover. Your garage looks fantastic...

Wahey, that's 2 of these now, done mine around the same time as you but into a mk6 van
I'm running the manual bm box purely for the rate of failure of the auto e39 gm box
I had immobiliser deleted & the loaded with a 250hp map, big front mount cooler, open pipe although I am adding a small silencer

I didnt drop mine back quite as far as you though as wanted a little clearance behind the head but it's by far the best thing I've done, makes it do much nicer

I swapped axle to a 3.15 ratio from a mk7

Currently sorting the bits for going up to 400hp

Good work

This is incredible, I've not long joined so flicking through some of the projects. I love the fact you've swapped this over and managed to get it to work so well AND that it's actually a working truck. Fair play to you.

That's it a few weeks back with a tdi golf, it can be raised with the bags so height can be adjusted

Hi there.. I love this build.. I've been planning do do this with my crew cab. If you dont mind could you please answer a few questions for me please.
1) why have you used an iveco fuel tank.. is there issues with room for the bmw gearbox?
2) after using the truck. What is the axle like speedwise? I'm planning on using a manual gearbox in mine. But the calculator things on Google are saying that itll only do 68mph at 5000rpm with my box being 0.74 5th gear and axle being 5.27.. what is yours like please.. and if you've changed it, what have you changed it to please.
Thank you

old thread but this is exactly what i would like to do to mine as mine has an ASM box in it already and i like the auto bit even though it has issues.

Hi Bazmcl, I know I'm late to the party but I absolutely love your engine swap. Top job. I considered putting BMW 3.0 diesel in my Mk7, but I thought no way would it fit because of the engine length. I thought the engine bay of the Mk6 and Mk7 were pretty much the same?
I figured I would have to cut out all behind the dash. Now I'm inspired to revisit the idea.
