Mk7 Immobilizer

Had it now for couple of days that early in the morning there was no way I could get around the immobilizer. Dealer forwarded it all the time to Ford Assistance. Problem would be solved most of the time during a 30-45 min trial and error phase. Not really nice. So the van is back at the dealer. Hope they can sort it out.
Anyone else with similar problem?

Little update;

A couple of days back I found out that my High-beams were not working although on the dash they were on. They replaced the relay and said it was corroded (.....I thought I bought a NEW van) .

Anyway the problem with the immobilizer probably comes from the fact that the whole fusebox/relaybox is corroded. They ordered a new one but it will take some days. So hopefully the van will start the comming days.

Strange problem for a new van.

I also noticed when driving 165 km/h that the speed is not constant. It will drop to 163 km/h then to go to 168 km/h again and this like a cycle over and over again.
As they say it doesn't have a limiter they think this as well can be the corroded fusebox/relaybox as it might give spikes in power.

When I get back from holiday I hope the parts are in and all the problems are gone.

the question they should be asking is how the BCMii has become corroded


the speed fluctuation 'could' be due to the faulty BCMii as the signal from the throttle pedal demand sensor goes to both the PCM and the BCMii, the 2 modules then compare signal readings and the pcm adjust fueling from the result of the comparison.

the vast majority of transits never experience water ingress in the cabin area throughout their working lives.


you must have a water entry problem which needs to be sorted before it kills another BCMii
