Turbo repair

Postby Kayaflex » Wed Jul 10, 2019 12:14 pm

Hey guys,
I have a 07 1.8tdci 110hp
The small turbo propeller is missing 1 wing and i need to replace it.
I'm not using this car animore and wants to sell it.
Is it doable to just change the cartridge?
I found this and was interested to buy it:

I don't know much about this particular one but I've replaced the cartridge on a VNT turbo not long ago and it wasn't particularly difficult.
Unless you can get a recon one for a similar price then I can't think of any reason not to replace just the cartridge.

Hope someone else can give you some advice.

Hey guys,
I'm waiting for the turbo to arive and was wondering if there are things i need to see at when changing the turbo?
Maybe stupid question but:
Do i need to remove my oil from the engine?
Do i need to warm the engine up to unscrew the exhaust screws easier?
Thanks!

Wish I could help you mate but I really don't know.

Wouldn't it be easier maybe to remove the manifold and turbo together?
