Wanted Epic accelerator pedal mk5 (i think)

Postby Carolsvan » Sat Jul 13, 2019 3:16 pm

I am looking for an epic accelerator pedal from a mk5 transit.
I have a 1999 LDV convoy and have been told the mk5 pedals are same.
My pedal is ok mechanically but the potentiometer is faulty.
If anyone can help Id be so grateful.

Don't think so , the way it was explained to me is they are like volume controls and they wear out , so a volume control worn out the sound gets all crackly due to worn contacts so with this it gives crackly signals to the engine computer.
Only what I have been told though :D

"Description of Operation:
The assembly comprises:
A ‘reverse’ twin–pack potentiometer (PDS1 & PDS2)
A ‘low pedal–demand’ (idling position) switch (LPDS)
A ‘high pedal–demand’ (kick–down position) switch (HPDS)
NOTE
A ‘reverse twin–pack potentiometer’ comprises a pair of potentiometers mounted on the same shaft and arranged so that when one of the pair presents a high voltage at its output, the other presents a low voltage.
The two switches are for validating the pedal sensor values. With no throttle response i.e. engine stationary or at idle, LPDS is open and HPDS is closed. At part–throttle, both switches are closed. At full throttle, LPDS is closed and HPDS is open.
HPDS is also used to initiate automatic gearbox kick–down.
The potentiometer assembly is part of the LDV pedal assembly and is non–repairable. It must be replaced if faulty."

LDV and transit pedals are not the same, and the bits arn't an easy swap either. You need an LDV pedal
