Cant make up my mind.

It's as much about tyre availability as it is width. The rear rims are 15mm in from the outer lip. Looking like i'll be running 225/60's as there isnt much else that will fit. For the fronts to sit 15mm inside the arch also to keep it looking all equal i need to make them 7" i think - need to have another measure in the morning as i just realised its sitting up on blocks at the mo which is probably altering things a bit.

Which is going to make the fronts 195's i reckon. The hubcaps stand 50mm proud at the widest point, and i dont want them sticking beyond the rim too much or it'll look wrong. So i'm restricted on three fronts, the hubcap protrusion, the arch position ( and that in relation to where the rears are - dont want the fronts extending further than the rears and the rears are tight already) and tyre size availability. Proper headache.

What are you running on yours?

Figured it out. 35mm on the front. More or less 7j. Going for toyo proxies t1-r's all round, 225/40-14 on the rear and 195/45-14 on the front. Virtually identical diameter, rears are 12mm taller. Will lower the van 2" without touching the suspension, and will help with any bodywork clearance issues. Good job ive got the 3.9 diff.

Gonna look a right tonka toy.

I still might, just to be different. theres something of the supervan 1 about it, tonka toy look. I kinda like  . Paint the insides of the arches black, cut the front coils down, might just work.

Its this or 225/60's .... which are as tall as the originals. Need something in between.

Decided to go the other way with the tyres. The 40's would look good but arent weight legal. At least these are. 235/60-14 on the rear and 205/60-14 on the front. Cant wait to have them on but still waiting to get the front wheels back from the banders.

Painted and fitted. Rears are a squeeze on the inner arch/floor flange despite leaving some clearance. Wish id gone half an inch wider on the fronts now, but im still happy with them.

If it looks high its because it is, chassis still on blocks.

Rear brakes all done. New hoze, new brake pipes on the diff, new everything inside the drums. Just need to bleed them and put some lsd oil in the diff, and hopefully she'll be moving next weekend, first time in about 4 years!

It lives! Not only lives but moves without help too!

I put some 2 stroke oil down the bores as a precaution, seeing as it hasnt run in about 4 years. Might've over didit!

No drama it started almost first turn with some new plugs in, forgot how quiet these pintos are compared to diesels, almost a whisper, can barely hear it running. Almost seems a shame to rip it out and stick the cossie lump in it. Might just bung a piper FR134 cam in it for now.

Seems i CAN build a diff too... never done one before... had my doubts, but its silent and smooth. The lsd works perfect, lit up both wheels up the muddy track into the back yard without any clunk or snatch. 8)

Now to get some of the welding done...
