Reads to me like its no longer illegal to use fuel without paying duty, provided that you don't use too much (no way i'll use 2,500 litres in a year).

licinius wrote:Had a good blast in my transit today to see how it runs on SVO. Its a 2.5d banana engine with Bosch FIP & 165k on the clock. The previous owner admitted not looking after it & this was substantiated by an air filter that looked like it had been barbequed!
I've fitted a new air filter, new oil/filter & fuel filter & in keeping with my policy of in for a penny in for a pound, filled it with pure SVO (KTC from Makro) & went for a blast on the motorway.
The van pumps out a lot of white smoke on start up (which I expected) but soon ran clear(ish). The only problem occurs with foot to the floor acceleration which results in excessive white smoke (not very pleasent for those behind me). It sits nicely at 70 with no excess smoke, the problem is just with accelerating.
Is this likely to continue or is it possible that the engine is just clearing out all the cráp from years of neglect?
