Hi guys in need of some advice I have a mk7 2008 FWD,2 2 transit i have just put in a reconditioned engine in it (tall engine ) and put all the bits from my failed engine onto it , it ran good for about 2 weeks then started hunting and cutting out....it did used to hunt before I had engine failure but never cut out .my brother plugged his snap on into it today to test the fuel pressure and it came back with these results , there were no codes, but I'm struggling to interpret the results so can anybody shed some light please ?

The first marker is 100 then 200 ,pics have gone a bit grainy when resizing, sorry, Apparently the top graph is my actual fuel pressure and below is what it should be

Am I correct in thinking the fuel pressure is fine ? Or should the line be straight like the one below ?

I can't really see the figures on the pics but the desired pressure on idle should be 230bar and the actual pressure shouldn't fluctuate too much... If it drops under 200 then it'll hunt.

It might just need a pump learn if the SCV is in good shape.

If it cuts out ...the PRV might be duff....if this is the case, the SCV will be the cause.

Thankyou I will get them ordered , are the Denso valves ok ? Because my local motor factors wanted £138 just for the PRV

The genuine items are Denso...PF Jones are a quality supplier also.

Just be warned that buying cheap often means buying twice....we've had poor results with the cheap ones, they just don't work well.

Why did you change the engine :?: Its silly to fit a recon engine and old injectors without getting the injectors checked out
On the sixth day God created a Sprinter on the seventh he gave it away and bought a TRANSIT

The engine failed completely , I'm a courier and have 2 transits and need 2 so I can jump straight into the other when one goes wrong and as it happens the spare van had issues and was due a MOT so everything was a massive rush , it always ran ok on the old engine apart from occasional hunting and when new engine was put in it ran great for 3 weeks until the hunting returned but worse ,making it cut out .

Are you saying the injectors could have made the original engine fail? How do I check them ? Thanks

http://www.cityautodiesel.co.uk/ You could try these folks  The quickest and best way is to leave the van with them as buying from online can end up a ball of trouble. The labour wont be much for removing and refitting and doing the codes plus you will have warranty :)
