Central Locking Issues

Postby mossman_uk » Tue Jan 14, 2020 7:21 pm

Hi

I know this kinda thing has been covered before but I'm struggling to sort it and hope someone has some ideas!

When I try to lock the van, all doors lock then immediately the front doors unlock again. (Rear and side doors remain locked) and sometimes the front door locked cycle locking and unlocking continuously??

Also in addition, when I switch the lights on the warning buzzer is constantly on, like a door is open.

I've checked the usual issue of the wiring loom in the rear door and it seems totally dry and intact.

I'm positive it's something to do with the passenger door and the rain we had yesterday.

Any further insight??

Thanks!!

Would the sliding door contacts reopen the front doors only?

Not sure bud, on my old Jumbo mk7, the rear passenger side door loom was buggered and it threw up some random issues. When it got really bad, kept locking and unlocking all the doors and blowing the central locking fuse...

Hopefully someone will be along to give you better info...

The key factor here is this little bit of info

Thanks!!

If the warning buzzer is on constantly then it must be the driver's door as that's the only one that activates the buzzer
Check the plug at the door pillar they have a habit of corroding, or the lock unit the switch is faulty.

Thank you everyone

The issues seem to have sorted themselves now??

The pin switch for on the door pillar has been broken for a few years anyway, I'll sort a replacement. Maybe that combined with the van facing the full brunt of the weather on Monday (I live by the sea!) Caused it all!
