Buying from abroad

With the leap of popularity in vans and prices high,i was thinking is it possible to find low milage right hand drives aboad?
Vehicles are cheaper abroad Arnt they?
Has anyone Done this?
is there any web sites that specialise in vans,people have been doing it withcars for years,ive not come across imported vans,Is there a reason for this?

Fred, yesterday i v been sent to a panel beater to do my van up and saw 2 Vw transpoters being prepared. The man in charge told me there for Uk export, one of them was an old splitscreen.So a transit would surely be no problem to ship out. I don't know the owner but the work from what i could see was not good to me. the chap was just filing the surface rust and filling up with filler to every rust place, i would't be a happy new owner if it was me. By the way he refused to do mine when mentioning its a Mk1, everybody wants easy money now a days. What Mk had you in mind to buy just if i happen to know one ?

Sorry cant assist with the mk7 as Fart SA are useless, they dont sell any of the Transit fords and must be losing millions on sales cos the likes of Merc, Peugot, Nissan and VW are selling then in big numbers, tried finding out why they dont do the transit but nnobody seems to know or should I say couldnt be bothered, from what I have seen on many of my trips in SA to date Ithink Im proudly the only blithering idiot who owns a MK6 Ford Transit, couple of the smiley faces running around but not many and were brought in by some mad english guy.

I knew it should be possible! I hadn't any particular van in mind, it was just you were posting some nice vans and they have less rust tham ours do, and right hand drive!

as i know quite few people who are looking for cars to be brought to britain thats are only available in south africa.

About a month ago a Granada with a V8 engine came up on fleabay,
an import from S.A. and just yesterday I was talking to a guy who is after a Firenza from S.A. Apparently most/if not all the cars we (U.K.) exported
to S.A. had V8s installed. He mentioned a V8 engined Capri called a Comanche, the above mentioned Granada was called a Perana (302 V8). For you youngsters a Firenza was a fastback Vauxhall, older Escort size, with a V8 installed it must have gone like sh*t off a shovel.

dont like modern cars at all ive always had cars that were built before i was born in 1984

i know that south africa had the XR8 sierra which had a 5litre V8 in it. and cortina production continued until 1984. best of which was the 3.0litre XR6.
there a quite a few people i know who are willing to pay to have one brought over or even a bit nearer to britain, for them to collect. me included, but i cant at the moment as i am out of work

I am indeed in SA (South Africa){Mentally drove all the way here injune last year in my Transit} saves on keyboard wear, I tend to take it for granted that SA has many cars still about in mint condition due to climate and some madmental car owners who look after them better than their wives and kids and I kid you not, some kids will be walking around bare footed cos afrikaaner daddys XR6 interceptor comes first, whats nice here is boyracer cars are far and few and the ones that about have been nicely done, no we dont see 6 exhausts comming out the arse end, sound systems are installed to very high standards, guess this is due to SA winning many DB sound offs.

But on the old car side of things there are indeed plenty to be had, did I mention the BMW 333i that has to be one mental beast that many a country didnt get , XR8s how many do you want..
