Premium diesel and 2.0 injectors

Postby motorhomer2018 » Fri Feb 14, 2020 4:35 pm

Afternoon all.

In one of the motorhome forums I am a member of one the owners has had to replace their injectors now on more than one occasion.

As I don't know which part of the injector is prone to going faulty would premium diesel help against that, or is it not that part of the injector that goes faulty.

(ie their an electrical connection inside that breaks down and fails)

as I assumed that once you have had them swapped out once then they will be good for quite a long time

We've got loads of MK8 2.0 vans at work and not one has had injector issues, they range from 66 to 69 plates, 66 plates will have about 80 000 on most of them now as well.

Yes. It is the mk8.

So it appears that the other motor homer was just unlucky

Thanks all.

I think that if you have a read around on here, there have been a few instances of the new Custom's and Mk8's needing new injectors, but on the flip side, there are thousands out there that have had no problems so far as I can see :)

I think there was talk here about injector problems being more common on motor homes because they sit for ages when new, before being used.

It's worth mentioning that Ford are replacing injector installed between 25 February 2019 and 13 September 2019 (build date).
Later than yours though.
