Mk8 rear view mirror

Postby ukEvans » Fri Feb 28, 2020 2:07 pm

I'm after a Mk8 rear view mirror. It can be as basic as, I don't need the one with the little monitor etc but it does need to have the specific fittings. I'm only wanting it so that I can use a 'mirror mounted monitor' for my reversing camera.

Anyone know if any other Ford rear view mirrors have the same fitting? No joy so far from breakers but if I could widen my search to other models .....

TIA.

Has your van got the quick release mounting stuck to the windshield my bus has the auto wipers and light sensors on it and a cover that the mirror pushes in and twists to lock in it maybe all part of the fitment . Have thought of getting a old style mirror off an older ford that sticks on to the screen with a sticky pad.

Yes, there's a lot of 'stuff' in the window! It's all covered by a plastic trim/cover with a pop-out panel to access the mirror fittings. Appears to be the twist-to-lock type of fitting.

I don't want to go down the route of sticking anything to the screen; the view forwards is already 'congested' and I'd rather take advantage of what is 'factory fitted'.

Yes if you got the twist lock on the screen it makes sense to get a mirror I have one that’s not in the van at the moment but I will use it the same as you want to do maybe worth trying ford to see if not to dear or find someone breaking a mini bus as it’s standard fitment on them .
