Best Van on the Market But !!!!!!!!

The back up "Back Bone of Britain " Leaves a lot to be desired.

I took My Mk 6 135 2005 (Thats for Mr Puk ) in for a 75 K service £227 for a Oil change

When i rang to book it in because i wanted a Courtesy Van not car it was "2 Weeks before the Van was avaliable as they do a lot of vans and only have the 1 Connect as a Courtesy vehicle"

Might be a Idea to get another Van is my opinion

It had a Couple of other issues that needed dealing under warranty. The first was the Clutch Pedal that sunk if held down and then the van would creep forward and a Oil leak that they had cured (Not) on the last service.

The clutch was the Master Cylinder thay was changed under warranty the oil leak was the same gasket that they had changed last time

Anyway the Clutch is sorted, the Oil leak is exactly the same as when it went in



They have ReplAced the Gasket on the VAacum pump again and it still leaks the same as it did before

If its got tits or an engine it'll mess you around and cost money. You have to remember that its not the vans fault, Ford built it and then let their dealers look after them. Things brake, you just got to make sure the people looking it know what they are doing. Good Luck.

The Problem is that the Dealers have not grasped that some People with Vans use them for a Living

Unlike Mercedes i am sorry to say. Just compare Mercaid Breakdown service fully equipped vans that carry a Parts selection diagnostic Equipment etc to the AA OR RAC That just want to tow you to the Dealership.

The Courtesy van they gave Me Today had a £1000 Insurance Excess on it Would anyone drive it further than absolutley Nesseceray

Service is a difficult one. It costs money and unless you are spending with them, then they don't like to have to pay for nothing. I don't trust any dealership. Finding a garage that is worth anything is hard. I have an independent motor garage in Kelvedon that I will only take my car to. I have a independent bike garage in Braintree that I take my bikes to. I have a independent bike shop in Witham I buy as many of the bike bits I can and go to Chelmsford for any official Piaggio bits I need because the Colchester dealer (Kendal and sh*t) are useless at anything and everything. I only use the Piaggio dealer in Chelmsford because they are the only ones locally that have access to the Piaggio parts lists. All my spare car/van parts I need I get from Colchester motor factors unless I HAVE to go to a dealer but that doesn't happen often.
I only spend money with places I can trust. Sounds like you need to find another dealership. It might be worth reading online reviews of places etc, or moaning saying "I'll contact ford UK to put in a formal complaint about that quality of workmanship unless the fault is fixed properly" Or the old favourite my old company use to use was "ok, so that's the bill. Now its taken extra days and I charge £200 a day for my labour, I will charge you that for wasting my time," You'd be surprised how many places get their arse in gear and then cut the cost of the bill down as well.
