What worries me is people are stupid, how many people (usually the undesirable types) will think they can drive a car that's not been MOTed for a few years  also how would that effect insurance?

Ned, I read it as ‘extension to your current mot’ rather than not needing an mot?

There are those people that scraped a pass last year with a multitude of advisories that haven't
either fixed or had them fixed and hope they don't get spotted next MOT that can "run about" for a further 6 months.

Makes me safe in the knowledge that I keep up on maintenance and have dash cams on my vehicles:idea:

It says you will be connected 7 days before mot due date if you’re vehicle is going to be exempt it’s a bit short notice you could have problems booking it in if everyone had to book a test in such a short time I always go and get it booked in for a test A month before it runs out and take at the first opportunity.

They only update them a few days before they're due, mine was due on May 8th and didn't get extended until May 2nd. Any vehicle that needed an MOT before these extensions were announced, still needs to get an MOT, as it only applies to vehicles which were about to run out.
