2.5 diesel engine + 5-speed gearbox from a 1997 Ford Transit 'Smiley' 100 SWB van (registered 20-2-1997).
Genuine 64k miles only!!!
MOT history can be checked on .gov going back to showing 21,182 miles in 2007 and I have an 11-stamp main dealer service book from new to 33,313 miles in 2011.
I bought the van in June last year and it's now beginning to be customised (V8 engine, auto box etc.) so the engine and gearbox will be coming out next week.
I ran it occasionally whilst it was laid up and drove it 100 miles last week down to Dudley (where it is now) to the custom-car builders.
It always started absolutely first touch (doesn't even turn over once before firing!) and ran like a Swiss watch on the 100 miles trip, as you'd expect with this engine at this mileage (a slow, noisy Swiss watch but you know what I mean...!).
It's still in the van at the moment (Sunday 22nd March) and can be viewed and driven in the next few days but will probably be out of the vehicle by the end of this coming week.
The van is located in Dudley, West Midlands at DY5 3UP but you need to make contact beforehand if you want to view and I'll confirm.
The engine and gearbox will be carefully removed for you to arrange collection for or preferably pick up yourself - I can't arrange delivery it's down to the buyer to sort out - you may be able to help with it's removal if you want to, I'd have to check with the garage.
I'd like £450 for it (I think this is a reasonable price for this combination with this mileage?) to help towards the re-build (well, help a little as the re-build is in the £25k - £30k region....!).
I'm not a mechanic myself (but have owned half a dozen Transits including one ex-RAC 330 housing a tuned V6 Cosworth with manual box and nitrous...!) and can't answer any technical questions I'm afraid.
Cheers.
