2.2 econetic fwd stalling and intermittent boost

Postby Pak_plastering » Sat May 23, 2020 4:04 am

Hi all.
Been a while since I’ve been on here as I’ve had a really good run with my van.
Well I say that but for around 9 months it’s been idling funny, just revving up like it has a huge cam in it, but had been driving normally.
Until this last week, its been occasionally stalling when coming up to an intersection, but still driving normally until yesterday when it was making boost intermittently, so sometimes it was driving good then other times when it would be normally making boost it just went flat like there was no fuel.
It gets service every 5-6000 k’s (I’m in Australia), the fuel filter was replaced around 10,000 k’s ago and I run injector / fuel system cleaner through each service.
So could it be the injector pump on its way out or something else??
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated
Oh, the van has 225,000 k’s on it

Cheers, Krem

No I haven’t,
The check engine light isn’t on so I didn’t think I’d need to check the codes
I will see if I can find my Bluetooth dongle to check them tomorrow

Check fuel rail pressure at idle, sound like it could have a blown prv.

Ok, so after losing my Bluetooth obd dongle and spending $180 on a plug in hand held one, which failed to read any codes!!
I found my Bluetooth dongle and it threw a code p251A(00)
So is there any ideas on this rom should I’m just take it to my local ford dealer and throw them my heart, lungs and liver to get it fixed??

P251A is a PTO fault.....do you even have a PTO..?? Possibly a software glitch..?

As the other chaps have mentioned....check FRP and see if the PRV is still alive.

Pto code can be removed by switching off the rev limiting in the service menu.
It needs manually switched off after a s/w update, obviously it wasn't done after its last one.
