Oh ffs, that’s beyond frustrating

Yep bought them as new but never fitted for a Mk6/7 high roof

This is with the bar sitting on the roof

I was thinking some bolt on steel plates to extendin down a few inches but I could grab the welder from the lock up I guess

The bracket only fits on one way, I think the rivnuts are that way to act as spacers as well as somewhere to screw the clamp on with

More painting on the cladding for the roof

Need to paint it before it's fitted otherwise it shrinks and you can see the unpainted wood in the tongue and groove

Solar panel is 100cm X 160cm and 240w, I put my multi meter on it yesterday and it was putting out about 33v. Once my steel plates arrive I can alter the roof bars so they actually fit and get it mounted on the roof, also need to order a solar controller

Been a bit busy with work so not much done on the camper recently

Got some of the cladding up on the roof

Have done about 3/4 of it now.

Steel plates for extending the height of the roof rack also arrived, drilled and fitted

Currently painting it all as I don’t really want the gold look on the van

Have also been collecting various bits and pieces needed like solar controller, tool for fitting the mc4 connectors used on solar cables, wood for the interior etc

Looking good mate you should have it done soon I’ve always found that lining out the van is the most time consuming part of the job.
