Long distance Deliveries

Postby Knobby2515 » Mon Nov 02, 2020 1:09 pm

Any forum members used their vans to do long-distance parcel deliveries?
I see there are websites and you bid for jobs up and down the country getting back loads etc.
A bit like an American TV show.

You can make a small fortune doing this work.

You start with a Large Fortune, and watch it dwindle away.

It's a very cut throat business with very small profit margins..

The one on TV is u-ship and don't believe tvland the jobs on there are cheap, like 2p a mile, the trouble with long distance or courier work is the initial out lay £2k courier insurance, fuel, maintenance cost ect long hours for little return.

Mr Andz is the man to ask.

Parcel delivery sounds ideal if you don't want the hassle of dealing with too many people and like being on the road listening to the sound of tyres on tarmac.. but at anywhere from £10-£40 an hour, man and van sounds a lot better.

I can't do heavy man and van, I've got a back problem attempting to become friends with me so washing machines and the like are out for me but i'm mulling over doing light man and van jobs to fill in around my other work.

Also has a built in brown trouser momenter due to the novel rear suspension and a "this'll cost a lot to fix" thought generator :!:
