Bloweing Exhaust

My vans exhaust has developed a hole toward the front of the exhaust system, its the gauze type bit, pretty much below the gear box, its about 15 inches long.

Can this bit be replaced or do i have to get he whole section from the engine to there?

As long as it's not a V6, most parts are available off the shelf. It depends what you want to spend. If you are keeping the van take it in and see what needs doing, make your mind up then. If you are selling it, bodge it up with gun gum or an exaust bandage (if it will work where the hole is) and get rid sharpish. Remember it doesn't have to be pretty (as long as it's legal).

you will have to get the hole downpipe replaced!

If the bit is fexible then u can get the flexi bit and weld it to your exhaust.but a new front pipe is not to dear!!and do you really want to do welding this time of the year..only 5 bolts to undo to take the pipe off.cant really patch it as it moves..

looked in previouse posts by aztran and he got a 1995 190 2.5 di.if its a 70hp its got 1 downpipewith no cat is 823.807
a 76 hp its got a twin down pipe with no cat 823.359
a 70 hp with a cat only 1 downpipe 823.827
6 figure numbers are bosal numbers.look in book or web site for pics of the exhaust.cross match with what ever pipe you may think of getting.

i've never liked those flexi joints, always find that manufacturers always always seem to use any old crap for exhausts and dont give a crap how easily they fall apart.

i will be building my own for mine, and it will exit out via the side infront of the rear wheels and wont be running so dam close to the prop or centre bearing as it does normally, other than that i will use the standard 2 box config and spacing so should i really have to replace it later with new standard ford boxes they will fit right in nice and easy ... one of the boxes going in there now is a straight through stainless steel box
