Small Update.

I've been round the van with a wire wheel and removed any obvious surface rust and protected it with Red Oxide primer. I will get the van blasted and painted properly towards the end of the project but I didn't want it getting worse while it was sitting about. It was defiantly starting to deteriorate quickly being back in the UK with a rough paint job than it was sitting in Malta. I'm actually really happy as it was literally just surface rust. There is no damage to the panels at all. :D :D

I've also started to collect some parts that I'm going to be needing.

My donor van was a single rear wheel van so I needed a twin rear wheel conversion kit which I sourced from a reputable transit breaker

I jumped the gun a bit on this as it wont be needed till much later in the build but the price was right and I have my heart set on an 8 Speed auto box.

Hurry up MWM although you're moving at quite a fast pace still not fast enough  I expect that bm 8 speed auto box to be mated to the Ford 3.2tdci and shoved in the mk2 tomorrow! A lovely Jumbo and probably a complete 430d knowing this guy have been sacrificed; therefore expecting results!

How's progress on the 3.2 conversion project coming along?

What engine and transmission ecu are you planning to use? Those 3.2 engines are really popular over here in Australia in the Ford Ranger and I have wondered about its suitability in an old transit.
