Good job I'm changing it N/S track rod is bent where the tread starts for the ball joint
Only took me 2hours to get old rack out as I did work on sub frame and suspension in the summer , so the bolts where easy to undo
It would feel great if I had the new rackKenton wrote:blue estate wrote:Kenton wrote:Yeah my rack had been leaking slowly for a few years now. Thought it was about time I replaced it. All the work very much worth it! Have fun mate

Wow, that would mean the tracking would be out slightly then! We had the subframe down about 6 months ago too, so the same applied! Bet it feels great now!
All went well yesterday all fitted and van handles lovelyKenton wrote:Oh ok Just double check the connection to the steering column on the new rack with your old one. I ordered one online and once we had stripped the subframe down and removed the old rack, we found the connection to the rack from the steering column was completely different! An absolute waste of time. The guy swore blind it was the correct one! The one I have just fitted came from euro car parts, and was a perfect match, and a straight swap. Just a heads up mate.
