Just realised, the mk8 passenger seat has the seat belt buckle on the seat so that won’t be an issue for the heater...
Still like the idea of relocating the handbrake lever to the door side of the drivers seat, shall have a looks into that too..

At work year’s ago we had a LT35 VW with the handbrake on the right of the seat absolutely hated it to many years using left hand but sometimes needs must.

Me to the service busses at work all been automatic have the handbrake on the right wasn’t a problem as never needed to use it

Don’t like hill start that’s the first thing I turned off on the mk8 and when we got the first mk7 at work nobody liked it so it was turned off as well

Can’t win everyone’s favour, tho just feel for space this is the perfect option to maximise the space available for what I need..
I’ll soon get the hang of it, baring in mind this is my time scale of fitting things and don’t think it’s gona be a straightforward swap neither...but we shall see...

Yes scooby your right when you build a camper van you build it to what you want and what suits your requirements your the only one that matters like my conversion it won’t please a lot of people but it’s what I want.

100% agree mate, it’s why I didn’t want a camper van, 90% of what’s fitted I don’t need..
Yes iv still got my subs, and yes they take up a lot of room, but the bed iv chosen fits around them, my tv will be on a lift like you get on them beds, so basically I’ll have a lounge area, that will fold down to a bed area and I can still run my subs..
Toilet is just me so it’s milk bottles or the bucket, I have cooking and shower facilities at work so don’t need them fitted, my back seat will be my sofa for gaming or watching tv..
I could have got swivel seats in the front but that won’t work with my rear layout..
Like I tell everyone, this van will be built to my spec as it’s basically my bedroom on wheels, and with my situation for the next 15 years, it’s ideal and to be honest, I can’t wait for us all to have a meet again so I can show you all, luckily I have plenty of time with us all being on lockdown

Even if you’re on your own I’d recommend a Porter potte they don’t take up a lot of room I’ve had one ever since I was parked up overnight in a pub car park and had a good drink and ended up wanting a no 2 so bad I was in agony for 4 hours till toilets opened in the morning

That's what dog poo bags, a bucket, and an empty bottle are for less room, kinder to the environment and your pocket
