Reset the ECU (or ECM) via unplugging the fuse. Where is it?

Postby Kgnot » Fri Mar 19, 2021 8:01 pm

As stated I need and the ECUas I will install a new O2 sensor or lambda sensor in my Ford Transit T350 2012.
But how do I find it in the manual? Is it tagged as ECm or is it at 25a where it states the fuse is for the ABS, ESP valves and control unit?
I do not see something like Electronic Control Unit to stand out alone in the mainuals:

They don't have an ECU as such...They have a series of vehicle control modules all connected together, the main engine control is the "PCM", (Powertrain Control Module)....

What exactly is you problem..??

I plan to install a new Lambda sensor at the upstream exhaust point. I want to reset the PCM to register it if this is resposible for registering the sensor.

I have found yesterday after reading your comment the PCM at F26 under the engine fuse box 15 amper blue. I took it out and put in contact and the glow plug lid up....I do not think the PCM was recet because the radio is not requiring a code.
Should I try to disconnect the two batteries under my seat? Put in contact and wait 5 minutes?

You can disconnect both batteries by removing the front RH seat bolt, and taking off the common earth lead

I suspect that powering off the the ecu/pcm will not achieve what you think you need.

If there is a learn for a new sensor then either it will happen automatically on th enext engine start, or you need IDS to perform a learn process.

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Meanwhile I post what I have done yesterday by trying to reset if through the fuse box. Can you show me on the battery pictures where the common earth lead is?

I think this fuse is for the glow plugs and not for the pcm....Could they have given me the wrong manual? I bought it second hand

It put it in the wrong order but I am showing you hwo in the manual is states the fuse is at F26 blue 15 amp under the hood. I go there remove it and the glow plug ignites...

The glow plug light coming on is because you are causing a dtc, that what the light is for.
And unpowering the pcm will not loose the radio code because the radio is not fed from the pcm.

A romanian guy without education discovered the issue. He is repairing vans on the black and it turned out it was a sensor called fuel rail pressure sensor.
