Sounds like a sticky stop solenoid. Mine did a similar thing once but with mine you had to turn it back on for the solenoid to shut off!!! :o
It caused the system to throw a wobbly and go into limp mode. Also cost me a fortune to fix as the lucas parts are getting on for £100 + labour!!

Turbo won't really start working at the low, limited revs that limp home allows.
If it goes, then it's good!!

Yep mine was the epic pump.

They fannied around with allsorts to clear the fault, the stop solenoid was one thing , then the EGR was flashing up a code too :x
All in all it cost me over £350 to get sorted. The stop solenoid was about £100 I think.

I am just about to change the system to a manual pump and leave the risk of this happening again all behind!!

Incidentally, the cost of a stop solenoid for a Bosch manual pump is £7.50 :D

Good luck at the fitters.......and the remortgage consultants!!!
If it goes, then it's good!!

Another bonus with the Bosch pump is that your van will happily run on veg oil. :D

Ok ferrett,
Few things to try

First and easiest (of course :D ) Check both 5 amp fuses in the box next to the battery.
Get the relay checked as well :!:

There may be dirt built up in the pump :( stopping the stop solenoid from working
Fit new fuel filter but poor in a can of Forte or Wurth injection cleaner

You can check the resistance of your ESOS (Electronic Switch Off Solenoid), but it is a bit fiddly :!:

A good quality, digital multimeter will be needed :!:

Carefully unplug the large connector on the back of your pump.
It has a plastic thumb operated springy thing that you move before you can rotate it anti clockwise (looking from the drivers seat, so as to speak)

Now using a mirror, you will see the  19  pins in this connector :!:
You need to check the resistance on pins 2 and 3 :!: The resistance should be between 1 and 3 Ohms :D

Now I hear you screaming and pulling your hair out  :!:  as to what is pin 2 and 3 :?:
So I made a little sketch for you

If you use a small flat bladed screw driver, you can carefully lever out the red plastic guard that fits over the pins  What this will do, is allow you to see where the calibration resistor resister is (coloured grey across the two pins 8 and 9

This is so that you can tell what pin is what, alot easier

Hope this helps :!:
Best of luck :!:

Well, the part you need, is number 127 on page4/4

It is a combined unit, with Rotor A (feed actuator)

Do you not have a Lucas/Delphi injection place somewhere up where you are :?:

Well the "green dot" will be the anti-tamper seal on one of the screws :!:
You should be able to see either a blue dot or an orange dot :!:

Leave your injectors alone, these will be fine :!:

That  red light will stay on until you take the bulb out :!:

The ECU and all associated sensors will be redundant

Try and find a pump off a late LWB minibus  numbers ending in 146
