wow its been a while since i was on here, so the van has been hybernating for a while, but we need it for towing duties soon, so i thought we better get it out for a shakedown, used it a few times lately and its been all good, but drove it last weekend and the axle was making a horrible noise, wheel bearings have done bugger all miles, the front oil seal does leak a bit, but dont think its empty of oil, gonna pull it tomorrow to check it out, will chuck the whiney 4.56 back in it for now, need to hurry up with my atlas hybrid axle rebuild
more soon

so i tried to clean the axle out with it on the van, alas no, the axle is now on the floor waiting to go to work for a date with the hot water pressure washer
the hubs will be getting a wash too, as its probably found its way into the bearings, and the 4.56 diff is going to get a clean aswell
more soon

yes Matt i always thought 80/90w was good for axles, just trying to figure out why ive killed 2 diffs in a short space of time, i took the axle to work for a hot wash today, and there was a load of crap in the case, everything has had a good clean today, diff and hubs aswell, so reassembly has started tonite
cheers

I have got a mk3 for breaking with a 4.56 in it if your stuck Paul - but its probably too late for your towing duties?
