It looks a nice one, that, Ned! And you've bought it in time to fight the onslaught of rust!

Yes, high-spec dash, that. Get yourself a leather steering wheel with cruise control buttons and it should be a simple case of just switching it on. I got a 40,000 mile C-Max wheel (like new) for £25.
Drink moderately, eat healthily, exercise regularly, die anyway.

Ah that’ll do, I’ll be going to the junkyard this weekend so I’ll have a look what they have, there’s a few rust scabs but if I catch them now, need to get something on the underside as well

It’s with a very heavy heart  it’s a real shame as lucifer has never been welded but the engine was getting worse and worse to the point I almost left it at the side of the road

That looks good chief, but not long enough or high enough to be called a proper van thought the much sought after and rare moondust silver more than makes up for that.

And welcome to my world with the constant oil smell.
But as long as it's been fresh oil that's spilt then you shouldn't be too bad. It's scorched waste gear oil you don't want. It's rank

I’ve narrowed down the smell to 2 stroke, hydraulic oil and rotten grass, it was owned by Jim price machinery so no wonder it smelt.

I did consider a mwb mh or lwb my but the places I go parking can be an issue plus my roof rack is for a swb, I have got a tow bar though, I dare not look how it’s wired up :?

The wheels are far too small, need to get the wellers on soon as I get a couple of tyres :P

If it was me, I'd remove the ply, front wheels on a curb then hey wash all the inside back, maybe add detergent to get rid of the oil? Then hammerite the lot then use the removed plug as a stencil on some new ply to draw it then cut it with a jigsaw and then install that. I think it'll kill 2 birds with 1 stone, and if they're is any smell of oil left you can do the shake and vac and magic tree mods :P

I guess the front carpet is rank and the seats? Oily overalls etc?

2 weeks in and I haven’t broken it yet, nor have I broken down yet, but I do have a red ! In a square, plugged it in and egr stuck closed so I’ll ignore that for now, also when I turn the engine off I get a noise I can only describe as the sound the bath makes when it’s almost drained if you know what I mean, the burbling water noise, I thought it was fuel draining back but it always start in 2 seconds of turning the key :?

Going to get underneath hopefully this weekend and hammerite it to death before the brown stuff takes hold.

It is nice to drive without watching that bloody coil light, I’m getting places quicker now 8)
