Fuel Feed Help - 15 plate 2.2 Tdci Custom

Someone must know the answer to this hopefully easy question

I remove the fuel feed pipe coming from the filter AND also remove the return feed that would go back to the filter

I turn on ignition and fuel is being pumped out of both pipes

It's a new OE filter and OE housing and brand new OE pipes (the old pipes had exactly the same issue)

Surely can't be right that fuel is being pumped up the return pipe as well as the main feed pipe? Or am I missing something?

Any suggestions? I just would not expect diesel to come out of the return pipe ...

just a thought ,it might be daft, or a long shot but could it have a airlock,

Many thanks fortyeight - having looked at everything else I suspect you may be correct - goodness knows where or how to resolve ...?

bleed the system,is the filter full as it should be,if not fill it,it should pump through any air
